A Zoom meeting bot that joins from the browser
Connect your Zoom account once, then paste a Zoom link. Dot joins as a participant everyone can see, takes meeting notes, writes the minutes, and can answer from earlier meetings on Zoom, Teams or Meet.
How it joins a Zoom meeting
Zoom admits an assistant only alongside somebody who has given it permission and is in the meeting. So each person who sends Dot to Zoom meetings connects their Zoom account once, from Dot’s settings, on Zoom’s own permission screen. After that, paste a link: Dot comes in when you are in the meeting and leaves when you leave. Nothing is downloaded, and there is no plugin on anyone’s machine.
When it joins, Dot asks the host for permission to record before it listens to anything, and Zoom shows its own recording indicator while Dot takes notes. If the host says no, Dot leaves.
On Zoom, Dot attributes what was said to the name each person joined with. It sits in the participant list, posts a notice in the chat, and labels its tile.
What Zoom AI already covers
Zoom AI summarises each meeting, including on other platforms, and it is included with most paid Zoom plans. If a per-meeting summary is what you need, you may already have it.
What it does not do is connect Tuesday’s Zoom to the Teams call six weeks later where the decision was reversed. Every Zoom summary is complete about its own meeting. The gap is between meetings.
Questions asked out loud, not in a side panel
On Zoom, questions to Zoom AI are asked in the side panel and shown to the person who asked. Dot answers on its video tile, to the room, usually within ten seconds of “Hi Dot”. The same sentence is in the minutes afterwards.

Do I need to install anything from the Zoom Marketplace?
Nothing is installed or downloaded. You give Dot permission once, from Dot’s settings, on Zoom’s own permission screen, and you can take it back at any time in Dot or in Zoom. People who only attend the meeting do nothing at all.
Why does the host see a recording request from Dot?
Because Zoom requires any app that listens to a meeting to ask the host first. Dot captures nothing until the host allows it, and Zoom shows its recording indicator while Dot takes notes. By default Dot keeps a written transcript and no audio or video.
Does this work if we also use Teams?
Yes. The same bot joins both. A decision made on Zoom is still the decision when the next meeting is a Teams call.
